My favorite holiday is May Day. I love the sweet unexpectedness of goodies. Usually May Day is a very elaborate affair around here. This year we have too many projects with our house and too much going on to give May Day it’s usual attention. To make matters worse Kansas experienced a very late frost and most of the flowers are gone. So we borrowed a fabulous idea from our friend Jenni.
We used plain brown drink holders from McDonald’s.
A little paint.
These could also be decorated with rubber stamps, stickers, crayons, markers, collage items, etc……….
We filled them with garden flowers, candy hot glued to floral picks and a tag.
We are ready to “ding” and “dash”—– My boys favorite part!

We used to celebrate May Day when I was a kid by taking homemade May baskets around to all the neighbors. I had intended to start this tradition with my own son this year but lost track of time. Hopefully next year!
Thanks for renewing my appreciation for this tradition!

Wouldn’t you know we would be out of town for this, one of my favorite events! Darling baskets! I just love them!! The hardest part is asking the guy at the drive-thru for 10 empty drink holders — believe me!! — it was WELL worth it though! Fabulous!

[…] Time for a break! Actually I have already had a long unintentional blogging break –sorry! I am wanting you to know that I am still here—-thinking about you and wishing I was sharing ideas with you. We are in the process of moving and in the middle of our school fundraiser, so in order to keep it all together (if that is possible), I will take just a little more of a break from blogging. This is killing me because I have so many Halloween ideas to share —— games, parties, pictures of our family costumes, invitation inspiration and most important of all BOOING. Please DO NOT buy those pre-made boo kits at those large retail stores!! Just hang tight and I will share some fun ideas for booing! You know we are all about the ding and dash! […]

[…] Print out on card-stock or decorative paper(my paper was two sided so that is how I got the solid tag and printed cone, roll into a cone shape and then glue. I had pretty good luck with a glue stick (when tiny hands were present) but hot glue is more sturdy. Embellishing the cones with drawings, trims, glitter, stamps, cut-outs, is a great family project————but nothing is more fun than the “ding and dash!” […]

To keep fit does not always connote lifting heavy weights, but it
generally believes that health and wellness must include a lot of physical exercise like
walking or help in household cores. That is because they are rich in saturated
animals fats, making you gain excessive weight that
is also linked to prostate troubles. In addition, it can affect
your reproductive system and is linked to heart damage.
